![]() With all this talk of killing his father and putting his family in danger, I'd expect Jeffersons #1 goal to be working with Gambi to track down Tobias and finally take him down, but turns out he spent the past year sulking and doing nothing. Tobias was essentially on his death bed before, but now he's immune to Black Lightnings powers and the only explanation is "new serum", but where did he get it, how did he get it, who is this new henchman of his, and how did he manage to stay off of Black Lightnings radar for a whole year, being his #1 nemesis. How did Tobias build his way back up to the top and rebuild his reputation with no questions asked and everybody in the mainstream society of Freeland accepting him? What happened to Pastor Jeremiah Holt? I know he's still alive and runs the main church in Freeland, so I wouldn't expect him to stay quiet about Tobias sudden monetary projects. This new police chief lady who obviously doesn't understand bad optics since the Metas were being systematically targeted just a year before and now she calls them a plague and wants to basically put them all on a registry and have weapons made specifically for them, despite this lack of Meta activity. Now we haven't been seeing any particular Meta activity, but the police force seems to have added interest in them despite everything that went down with the ASA, and most crimes and violence being shown to be by the rival gangs. It seems like all other metas dissapeared too when the city was full of them previously. That'd be like if Lala was missing and the big dude was leading the 100 instead. Like what happened to Lady Eve, and why is Destiny suddenly the top dog of her gang, when before she was just a henchman. ![]() ![]() My main issue is that in some ways they've advanced without explanation and in other ways things seem to have regressed. ![]() I don't mind so much some of the new settings since it has been a whole year, so we can logically assume "ok so they must've built a new one or renovated", but yeah it would be nice for them to address it, although maybe it would seem out of place in context of the show for a character to marvel at the lab as if they've just seen it, despite it being around for months in-universe. I know covid went and messed everything up, but it feels like they changed writers or just completely retconned the season 3 finale. Also they haven't addressed any post crisis changes, as other CW shows have. Black Lightning did not cause Henderson to die, he gave up his life for Freeland. And the way he's acting by not wanting to be BL anymore and making all these reckless decisions just doesn't seem like a natural reaction with the way he was acting at the end of last season, unless there was some type of off camera event that occurred over the 1 year jump. Jefferson had a whole year to grieve over the loss of Henderson, but the way he's acting now it's like he never got the chance. I mean it's good they're addressing the fact that not everything is just gonna go back to normal after the occupation and the effects It had on the community, but it also seems like they completely scrubbed away all the development and progress the Pierces made as a family unit to open up with Jefferson and Lynn back to their marital issues and all this other familial drama. The last season ended on a high note with the Pierce family walking in lockstep like a bunch of BAMFS. I know there was a whole year time jump, but even then, season 4 so far doesn't seem to mesh well with how season 3 ended.
